Narok County is poised for President William Ruto’s highly anticipated development tour, set for the 28th and 29th of April. Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu has assured residents that everything is in place for the President’s visit, which promises to bring significant development to the region.
Governor Ntutu expressed excitement over the President’s planned visit, emphasizing that it will bring “a lot of goodies” to the people of Narok. He urged local residents to come out in large numbers to welcome President Ruto, as this tour marks a key moment in the region’s development agenda. “We are ready in Narok to receive our President,” said Governor Ntutu, highlighting the importance of the visit for the county’s future.
One of the major highlights of President Ruto’s tour will be the groundbreaking of an international airport in Narok, a project that has long been a priority for local leaders. The airport is expected to significantly boost tourism in the Maasai Mara, providing tourists with a direct route to Narok without the need to transit through Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Governor Ntutu, who had previously requested the airport, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, noting its potential to increase international tourist arrivals and support the local economy.
In addition to the airport, President Ruto will tour Suswa in Narok East Constituency, where he will launch a series of market projects aimed at improving livelihoods in the area. The President will also hold a rally in Narok Town to engage with the local population.
The visit is expected to foster unity across the political divide, with Governor Ntutu noting that even supporters of opposition leader Raila Odinga will be present to witness the development efforts. The event will also include a visit to Kilgoris Constituency, where construction of the Kilgoris-Angaga road remains an ongoing project.
As Narok prepares for President Ruto’s visit, the county stands ready to embrace the development and opportunities that will follow, signaling a new chapter in its growth.
