Pastor Dorcas Gachagua, the wife of Kenya’s former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, has openly expressed her deep admiration and steadfast support for her husband. Speaking at an event in the United States, Pastor Dorcas passionately referred to Gachagua as her “boy child number one,” emphasizing her unwavering commitment to him.
In a speech that drew cheers from the audience, she boldly declared her love for her husband, stating that she has been by his side for 36 years and has no apologies for doing so.
“Greetings from my home, and to my lover boy child number one, the one and only Riggy G,” she began. “That guy is good! Can you clap? Are you jealous? I don’t apologize I love the guy. He’s a good man, and I support him no matter what anyone says.”
Pastor Dorcas further highlighted that her primary role as Gachagua’s wife extends beyond their public life, noting that she sees it as her divine calling to pray for him.
“They ask me, ‘Do you pray for him?’ and I ask them, ‘What do you mean?’ There’s nothing else I do that is what I was called to do. It’s my number one priority and my number one ministry,” she emphasized.
Her speech reflected both humor and pride as she playfully remarked on their relationship dynamics. She pointed out that, unlike some couples where the man is seen as standing behind his wife, Gachagua always stands beside her.
“Anytime you see him, just clap your hands because that guy is something else. And he is who he is because I am standing beside him, and he stands beside me—not behind me,” she quipped, drawing applause from the crowd.
Pastor Dorcas has been an active advocate for social causes, particularly championing the empowerment of the boy child. However, on this occasion, her personal devotion to her husband took center stage. Her remarks painted a picture of a deeply bonded partnership, built on love, faith, and unwavering support.
Her speech not only showcased her commitment to Gachagua but also resonated with many who believe in the power of strong marital support in leadership and public life.
