The Postal Corporation of Kenya (PCK) has issued a stern warning against individuals and entities involved in the illegal encroachment of its land. In a statement released by the Corporation, PCK emphasized that it has taken necessary measures by reporting all illegal encroachments to relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Lands, County Governments, and law enforcement agencies.
“Posta Kenya takes this opportunity to warn any individual or entities involved in any form of encroachment on the Corporation’s properties. The Corporation has reported all illegal encroachments to the relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Lands, County Governments, and law enforcement agencies,” the statement read.
The Corporation further stated that appropriate legal action would be taken against any person found to be unlawfully encroaching, developing, or attempting to acquire any part of its property. PCK reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding its land assets, ensuring that public resources meant for postal services are not misappropriated.
“Appropriate legal action will be taken against any person(s) found to be encroaching, developing, or attempting to acquire any part of PCK’s properties unlawfully,” the Corporation stated.
Additionally, PCK urged individuals or entities currently occupying its land without authorization to vacate immediately. The Corporation reiterated that its land and assets are essential for providing reliable and accessible postal services across the country.
The Postal Corporation of Kenya was established through the PCK Act of 1998 and operates as a Commercial Public Enterprise. It plays a critical role in offering affordable and reliable postal services to all parts of Kenya, serving as the country’s Public Postal Licensee. As an institution responsible for ensuring communication through postal services, PCK aligns with the principles of the 1948 United Nations Charter, which recognizes communication as a fundamental human right.
