Principal Secretary for Internal Security and National Administration, Dr. Raymond Omollo, led an inspection tour in Kuria East Sub-county, Migori County, to evaluate the progress of key national government development projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure and improving essential services.
A major highlight of the visit was the assessment of the Kegonga Cluster Water and Sanitation Project in Nyamache. This initiative is designed to provide clean and reliable water to local communities, addressing a critical need for safe drinking water and improved sanitation in the region.
Infrastructure development was also a primary focus, with Dr. Omollo reviewing significant progress on the Taranganya-Senta-Ntimaru-Nyamtiro OSBP-Kegonga-Kugitimo-Loliondo B1 Road. The road is expected to enhance connectivity and boost trade, benefiting both local residents and businesses. Additionally, the construction and tarmacking of the JNC Stage at Kebarishia is set to improve mobility and accessibility for residents, further supporting economic growth.
A key milestone of the visit was the commissioning and handover of the completed Kebaroti Water Supply Project at Kebaroti Secondary School. Implemented in partnership with the Lake Basin Development Authority (LBDA), this project marks a significant step in improving water access in the region, ensuring that students and local communities benefit from a reliable supply of clean water.
Dr. Omollo was accompanied by Migori Governor Hon. Ochilo Ayacko, Senator Hon. Eddy Oketch, and Members of Parliament Hon. Peter Masara (Suna West) and Hon. Kitayama Maisori (Kuria East). Also present were LBDA Managing Director Wycliffe Ochiaga and other regional leaders, all of whom reiterated their commitment to advancing development initiatives in Kuria East.
These projects reaffirm the national government’s dedication to sustainable development by enhancing infrastructure, expanding water access, and improving the overall quality of life for residents. Dr. Omollo emphasized that continued investment in such projects would play a vital role in fostering economic growth and social development in the region.
