Mbeere North Member of Parliament, Geoffrey Ruku, has accepted his nomination as the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service and Human Capital Development. His nomination was announced by President William Ruto on Wednesday, marking a significant step in the MP’s political career.
Speaking shortly after accompanying Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on an impromptu inspection of the Kanyuambora Irrigation Project in Mbeere North Constituency, Embu County, Ruku expressed gratitude for the nomination, calling it a great honor. He pledged to serve with dedication and commitment, just as he has done for the people of Mbeere North since taking office.
“I am deeply honored by this appointment and will serve with utmost dedication to ensure that President Ruto’s vision for public service and human capital development is fully realized,” Ruku stated. He emphasized his unwavering belief in the president’s development agenda and vowed to work tirelessly to fulfill the promises made to Kenyans.
Ruku’s nomination has been met with widespread approval from his constituents, who describe him as a development-oriented leader with a strong commitment to improving the lives of the people. Residents of Mbeere North lauded his leadership, citing his efforts in infrastructure, education, and agricultural development as key indicators of his capability to serve in a higher capacity.
“Ruku has always prioritized the needs of the people. We are confident that in his new role, he will ensure efficiency and transparency in the public service sector,” said one of his supporters in Mbeere North.
The Public Service and Human Capital Development docket is crucial in streamlining government service delivery and enhancing workforce efficiency in Kenya. As the incoming CS, Ruku is expected to spearhead reforms aimed at modernizing public service operations, improving employee welfare, and fostering a culture of accountability and productivity within government institutions.
His nomination aligns with President Ruto’s broader goal of assembling a results-driven team to implement the Kenya Kwanza administration’s policies. If approved by Parliament, Ruku will take over from Moses Kuria, who previously held the position before being moved to the Ministry of Public Works.
As he awaits parliamentary approval, Ruku remains committed to his duties as MP, assuring his constituents that he will continue to champion their interests at all levels of governance.
