A high-profile interdenominational church service attended by more than 20 Kenya Kwanza leaders took place on Sunday at Tebeswet Primary School near Moi Barracks, Kiplombe, Eldoret. The event, hosted by President William Ruto’s close aide, Farouk Kibet, drew notable political figures and members of the clergy to discuss both spiritual and national matters.
Among the dignitaries present were Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka, Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii, and Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot. Others included Emurua Dikir MP Johanah Ngeno, Nandi Hills MP Benard Kitur, Moiben MP Phyllis Bartoo, and Likuyani MP Innocent Mugabe. Kilifi North MP Owen Baya served as the chief guest at the service, which brought together representatives from 25 different churches.
The interdenominational service provided a platform for the leaders to interact with the religious community while also addressing key issues affecting the nation. It is expected that matters such as governance, economic recovery, and unity within the ruling coalition featured prominently in discussions.
Farouk Kibet, a key strategist in Ruto’s inner circle, played a significant role in organizing the event. His presence alongside other influential leaders underscored the strong ties between the political establishment and religious institutions in Kenya.
Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii welcomed the attendees and emphasized the importance of faith-based initiatives in fostering unity and social development. “The church has always played a vital role in guiding leadership and ensuring that we serve our people with integrity and commitment,” he remarked.
Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot highlighted the Kenya Kwanza administration’s efforts in implementing policies aimed at improving the livelihoods of ordinary citizens. “We are committed to fulfilling our promises and ensuring that economic reforms benefit all Kenyans,” he stated.
The gathering also served as an opportunity for the leaders to reaffirm their support for President Ruto’s administration and its agenda. The presence of multiple lawmakers and governors further signified the continued alignment of political and religious interests in shaping the country’s direction.
The service concluded with prayers for national unity, economic prosperity, and good governance, as leaders and congregants reiterated the importance of faith in guiding the nation forward.
