President William Ruto has urged Kenyans to embrace unity, emphasizing that national cohesion is crucial in safeguarding the country’s future. Speaking during a church service in Jericho, Nairobi, on Sunday, Ruto called on both religious and political leaders to promote harmony and inclusivity for the sake of national development.
The President reiterated his willingness to work with like-minded individuals to drive his administration’s development agenda. He discouraged divisive politics and ethnic tensions, asserting that Kenya’s transformation can only be achieved through collective effort.
“The government is enough to accommodate all of us. It’s not a must for one to lose for another to gain. We can all be winners,” he stated.
Ruto stressed the importance of leaving a legacy of unity, calling on leaders from various sectors to work together for the betterment of the nation. “It is my hope that all of us, leaders from all fields, can join hands and work together for the greater family of Kenya so that we can pass on the baton to the next generation as a united nation,” he remarked.
As part of his administration’s key initiatives, President Ruto highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance access to quality education. He noted that the government has constructed approximately 17,000 classrooms in the last year and a half and plans to build more.
“The greatest legacy we can leave for our country is to make sure that every child in Kenya has access to education,” he said.
Beyond education, Ruto also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing affordable housing. He announced plans to construct 40,000 housing units in Eastlands, Nairobi, as part of a broader initiative to build 500,000 units across the country to support underprivileged Kenyans.
The Head of State maintained that his administration’s vision for a developed Kenya remains unwavering despite criticism. He called on leaders and citizens alike to set aside political and ethnic differences in pursuit of national progress.
His remarks come at a time when the country faces economic challenges, with many Kenyans keenly watching the government’s efforts to fulfill its development promises.
