President William Ruto has expressed his deep appreciation for his Deputy President, Kithure Kindiki, highlighting his respectful nature, hardworking attitude, and dedication to the nation’s development. Speaking during a visit to Gatunga in Tharaka Nithi County, Ruto emphasized that Kindiki’s role has been pivotal in facilitating the government’s agenda, making his own work as President smoother and more effective.
Ruto praised Kindiki for being a focused, development-minded leader who has consistently worked towards the realization of the government’s goals. “He is respectful, hardworking, and orderly. The DP’s job is not about cheap talk or divisive rhetoric but about unity and vision,” Ruto stated. He underscored that Kindiki’s leadership style was one that promotes national cohesion, helping bridge tribal divides and steering Kenya towards prosperity.
Ruto further affirmed that Kindiki serves not just Tharaka Nithi or the Mt Kenya region but the entire country, a sentiment that underscores the inclusive role of the Deputy President. “With Kindiki, my work has become easier, and the delivery of our agenda will be faster,” Ruto added, stressing the importance of having a unifying figure in such a high office.
In response, Kindiki expressed his gratitude to the President for entrusting him with the responsibility. He vowed to continue supporting Ruto in realizing their shared vision for Kenya. “I will ensure that the projects and programs aimed at improving the lives of Kenyans are delivered efficiently,” Kindiki stated, highlighting his commitment to following up on development initiatives across the country, especially in his home region of Tharaka Nithi and Mt Kenya.
Kindiki also thanked Ruto for his long-standing friendship with the people of Tharaka Nithi and the broader Mt Kenya region, noting that their bond has endured since Ruto’s tenure as Deputy President and Minister. During the visit, President Ruto inspected the Gatunga Modern Market, a government-funded project aimed at improving the business environment for local traders, and officially opened the Tharaka Nithi University Tuition Complex.
