President William Ruto has urged Kenyans to evaluate his leadership based on his achievements when the country heads to the polls in 2027. Speaking at Njiru Junction on Friday, Ruto emphasized that the electorate will have the final say and should assess him by his contributions to national development.
Addressing a gathering, the Head of State reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling his constitutional duties and delivering on key pledges such as job creation, infrastructure development, and education support. He encouraged citizens to focus on hard work, while assuring them that his administration would prioritize their needs.
“Tusikizane rafiki zangu, sasa ni 2025, uchaguzi utakuwa 2027. Nyinyi ndio mtaamua kulingana na ile kazi mtu amefanya. Kila mtu afanye bidii. Kazi yangu nitafanya. Nitapanga ajira ya hawa vijana, barabara zenu, maji, madarasa, nitasomesha watoto wenu tukutane 2027 na wale wako na maneno. Nyinyi ndio mtaamua watu wa Njiru, kila mtu atapimwa na kazi yake,” Ruto stated.
(Translation: “Listen to me, my friends; it is now 2025, and the elections will be in 2027. You will decide based on the work that someone has done. Everyone should work hard. I will do my job. I will plan employment for these young people; your roads, water, classrooms—I will educate your children. Let’s meet in 2027 with those who have issues. You shall decide. People of Njiru, everyone will be judged by their work.”)
Ruto’s remarks come amid increasing scrutiny of his administration’s economic policies and development agenda. He reiterated his commitment to job creation, infrastructure improvement, and economic reforms, noting that his administration’s efforts will be evident by 2027.
Accompanied by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and other leaders, Ruto’s visit was part of his five-day development tour of Nairobi County. During the tour, he commissioned several projects and inspected ongoing initiatives aimed at improving service delivery in the capital city.
The President’s development tours are a key strategy in his plan to bring government services closer to the people. As 2027 approaches, the success of his administration’s projects will be a major factor in shaping voter perception and political dynamics.
