A section of leaders allied to President William Ruto has dismissed claims that he will be a one-term president, insisting that his leadership will extend to a second term due to his achievements.
Speaking at a fundraiser for 25 churches, hosted by President Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet, the leaders reiterated their support for Ruto, emphasizing that his development agenda is resonating with Kenyans.
“Ruto ni miaka kumi express (Ruto will serve for ten years nonstop),” Likuyani MP Innocent Mugabe declared, highlighting what he termed as the president’s commitment to transforming the country.
Taveta MP Bwire cited the availability of subsidized fertilizer, the success of the Social Health Authority (SHA), and the employment of over 70,000 teachers as key achievements of Ruto’s administration. He argued that these initiatives demonstrate the president’s dedication to improving the livelihoods of Kenyans.
Among those present were Nandi Hills MP Bernard Kitur, Moiben MP Phyllis Bartoo, Innocent Mugabe of Likuyani, Fred Ikana of Shinyalu, Ikolomani MP Bernard Shinali, and Migori Senator Eddy Ochieng. Chief guest Kilifi North MP Owen Baya, Kitutu Chache North MP Japheth Nyakundi, and Nominated MP Irene Nyakerario also attended the event.
Farouk Kibet, Ruto’s close aide, urged all Kenyans to register with SHA to access quality healthcare services. He insisted that Ruto’s administration was effectively delivering on its promises, making him the best candidate for a second term.
“Do not listen to those claiming Ruto will only serve one term. Kenyans can see and feel his work, and they will re-elect him,” Farouk stated.
Moiben MP Phyllis Bartoo urged Kenyans to reject tribal politics, calling for unity in national development.
Kilifi North MP Owen Baya emphasized that Ruto was committed to serving all regions equally, including the Coast, and expressed confidence that the region would support his re-election bid.
Vihiga Woman Representative Beatrice Adagala advised Ruto to focus on development and ignore his critics.
Nominated MP Irene Nyakerario and Senator Oketch echoed the call for unity, stating that the cooperation between Ruto and Raila Odinga would promote national stability and equitable development.
“We are committed to the course started by our leaders and supporting their dream of making Kenya great as one nation,” Oketch said.
