Senate Speaker Amason Kingi is mourning the loss of his father, Mzee Kingi Mwaruwa, who passed away after a life marked by resilience and perseverance. In an emotional tribute, Kingi reflected on the struggles and triumphs that defined their journey together, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of a man who played a pivotal role in shaping his life.
“Dad, our Patriarch Mzee Kingi Mwaruwa has rested. I’m completely broken, Dad, especially when I remember the painful journey and struggles that you went through to make me who I am today,” Kingi stated in his heartfelt message.
Mzee Mwaruwa’s life was not without hardship. According to Kingi, his father endured numerous challenges, including persistent health issues that often kept him down. Despite these difficulties, he remained a beacon of strength and perseverance, qualities he instilled in his son.
One of the most cherished moments in their relationship came during the Christmas holidays of 2024. Kingi recounted a rare and joyful memory of dancing with his father on December 24 at their home in Mjanaheri village. It was an occasion of pure happiness and gratitude, a celebration of Mzee Mwaruwa’s remarkable recovery after years of battling ailments.
“Since I attained adulthood, I don’t remember ever dancing with you, Dad. Not until December 24, 2024, during Christmas at Mjanaheri village when, for the very first time, we danced, danced and danced together until sunset,” Kingi recalled. “Your face beamed with joy. We were not just celebrating Christmas but giving thanks to the Almighty for your remarkable recovery. I didn’t know that dance would be the first and last with you, Dad.”
In his tribute, the Speaker acknowledged the invaluable lessons his father imparted, particularly the principle of perseverance. Kingi credited his father’s teachings for shaping his resilience and determination, qualities that have guided him in his personal and professional journey.
“The biggest lesson I picked from my father is to never give up, no matter what. It is this lesson that has pushed me this far. Indeed, you were God’s gift to us. I would never have asked for a better father,” he expressed.
As he bids farewell, Kingi finds solace in the belief that his father is now in a better place, embraced by angels in a celestial dance. “Dad, may the Angels open the Gates of Heaven and welcome another Angel with a dance just like we did at Mjanaheri. Until we meet again, Dad.”
The passing of Mzee Kingi Mwaruwa marks the end of an era, but his legacy of resilience and love lives on in the Speaker and the many lives he touched. His journey serves as a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the lasting impact of a devoted father.
