Three people have lost their lives in separate incidents across the country, as police continue investigations to unravel the motives behind the killings.
Kayole: Man Hacked to Death
In the early hours of Sunday morning, 28-year-old Edward Wafula was hacked to death in the Soweto area of Kayole, Nairobi. The incident took place in the Duka Moja area, where Wafula was fatally attacked during a confrontation.
He was rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Authorities have since arrested two suspects believed to have been involved in the attack, with a manhunt ongoing for two more individuals. Police revealed that the attackers were known to the deceased, but the exact motive for the assault remains unclear.
Wafula’s body has been moved to the mortuary, pending an autopsy and further investigations.
Human Bones Discovered in Kabete
Meanwhile, in Kibiku, Kabete, Kiambu County, a local farmer made a shocking discovery while drawing water from the Mweteta River. Floating in a pool of water was the decomposed body of a woman.
The police were called to the scene and confirmed that the victim’s head had been detached from the rest of the body. Due to the state of decomposition, authorities have been unable to identify the deceased.
Detectives are currently exploring multiple theories, including the possibility of murder or drowning. They have urged members of the public with missing female relatives to visit the City Mortuary to assist with identification.
Tigania: 60-Year-Old Man Shot Dead
In yet another violent incident, Patrick Nyaga, 60, was gunned down outside his home in Kamechu village, Tigania, Meru County. The attack, which happened on Monday morning, saw Nyaga sustain three gunshot wounds from an unknown assailant.
Police officers recovered three spent rifle cartridges from the crime scene. Nyaga was rushed to Isiolo Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
The region has experienced a rise in banditry-related killings, prompting authorities to heighten security measures. Investigators are actively pursuing the gunman to establish the motive and ensure justice for the victim’s family.
The three deaths highlight growing security concerns in different parts of the country. As investigations continue, police have assured the public of ongoing efforts to bring those responsible to justice and curb crime-related incidents.
