Kenya Tourism Board Launches Strategic Campaign to Boost EAC Tourism

The Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) has unveiled a strategic marketing campaign aimed at enhancing Kenya’s tourism appeal within the East African Community (EAC) market. Joanne Mwangi-Yelbert, the chairperson of KTB, emphasized the importance of promoting Africa’s diverse landscapes, natural beauty, and rich biodiversity to offer travelers a wide array of destinations.

Mwangi-Yelbert highlighted the rapid growth of tourism in Africa over the past decade, noting that this growth has been uneven across the continent. She stressed the need for improved infrastructure and market access to ensure all African countries benefit from the tourism boom.

“A majority of countries are still lagging behind in terms of infrastructure development and market access, which is why partnerships between tourism boards and governments will be key in helping to grow our industry,” she stated in Nairobi.
