KESSHA Advocates for Grades 8 and 9 to be Domiciled in Secondary Schools: A Strategic Move for Quality Education

The Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association (KESSHA) has recently put forward a significant proposal to domicile Grades 8 and 9 in secondary schools. This strategic recommendation aims to enhance the quality of education and streamline the transition from primary to secondary education in Kenya.

KESSHA’s proposal comes amidst ongoing reforms in the Kenyan education sector, particularly with the implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC). The association argues that housing Grades 8 and 9 in secondary schools will provide several educational and administrative benefits, including:
