Kisumu, Kenya – A Form 2 student from Mbaga Girls High School has disappeared following a week-long suspension after being found with a mobile phone on school premises. Jenny Teresita, a student with no previous misconduct reports, left a deeply concerning note before vanishing, expressing regret for her mistakes and reluctance to return home.
Jenny’s father, Dan Oremo, shared the distressing sequence of events leading up to her disappearance. Jenny had returned home briefly to sort out school fees issues. After her father made the necessary payments, she went back to school. However, during a routine check, the school administration discovered a mobile phone in her possession, leading to her suspension.
“I received a call from the school about the phone. Since I was far away, I asked her sister to go to the school,” Oremo explained. “Her sister brought her home after the suspension. Jenny spent the night at her sister’s place, but the next morning, she was gone.”
Before disappearing, Jenny left a heart-wrenching letter for her elder sister, expressing profound remorse for her actions and an intention to distance herself from her family to prevent further distress.
In her letter, Jenny wrote: “I have not been a good girl. I have made so many mistakes and I guess to solve them, I’ll need to go far away from all of you. When you get this letter, do not look for me. Just focus on raising your child and one day I hope you use my case to direct them well. I made a mistake and apologised for everything and I hope God will protect me wherever I go. I am sorry to everyone. Just know that it was not my fault or intention. I am going to face the world.”
The family is now desperately seeking any information regarding Jenny’s whereabouts. Her father, deeply troubled by her disappearance, appealed to the public for help in locating his daughter. He emphasized that Jenny had no history of behavioral issues at her previous school, making her sudden disappearance all the more alarming.
“Jenny, if you see this, please come back home. We are not angry; we are just worried about you. We love you and want to help you through this,” Oremo pleaded.
The local community has rallied to support the search efforts, with many expressing shock and concern over the incident. School authorities at Mbaga Girls High School have also joined the search, acknowledging the gravity of the situation and cooperating with local authorities.
As the search continues, Jenny’s disappearance serves as a stark reminder of the pressures and challenges faced by young students. The family and community remain hopeful for her safe return and urge anyone with information to come forward.
