The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has officially announced the registration dates for the 2025 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams. The registration process will commence on January 27, 2025, for KPSEA candidates, while KCSE registration will begin on February 17, 2025.
Speaking at the KNEC headquarters during the release of the 2024 KCSE results, KNEC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) David Njengere emphasized the importance of accurate registration, urging both schools and parents to ensure that candidate details are correctly captured. “I wish to appeal to all centre managers to ensure that all candidates are registered accurately,” Njengere said. He highlighted that inaccurate data capture during registration has been a longstanding challenge and that the council is committed to addressing this issue.
Njengere further stressed the responsibility of both schools and parents in ensuring that registration details, such as the correct spelling of candidates’ names, their order, and the subjects they intend to register for, are accurately entered into the system. “This is one area where we usually have a very big challenge,” he added. The CEO’s comments underscore the critical role that accurate data plays in the examination process.
Parents, too, have a significant role to play in the registration process. Njengere encouraged them to actively coordinate with schools, verifying that their children’s details are properly captured to avoid any complications during the exam period. It is essential that every candidate is registered correctly to ensure they are able to sit for the exams without hindrance.
As the registration period approaches, schools and parents are urged to stay vigilant and ensure that all necessary steps are taken for a smooth and accurate registration process. This early preparation is vital to ensuring that the candidates are adequately ready for the exams and that no errors arise in the registration system.
KNEC’s announcement is timely and calls for proactive engagement from all stakeholders to ensure a seamless and efficient examination process in 2025.
