The Kenya Table Tennis Association (KTTA) has secured a landmark partnership with Indian sports manufacturer STAG, a move set to transform table tennis in Kenya. The three-year deal, valued at Ksh 21 million, will see STAG provide top-quality table tennis equipment and apparel to KTTA through 2028.
Announced in Doha, where the agreement was officially signed, KTTA President Andrew Mudibo lauded the partnership as a crucial step towards youth development in the sport. He emphasized that STAG’s involvement would inspire young Kenyan players and elevate the sport’s profile in the country.
“As a globally recognized brand, STAG’s involvement will inspire a new generation of young Kenyan players to unlock their potential in table tennis. This partnership is a game-changer in nurturing future elite athletes,” Mudibo remarked.
STAG, which has a strong presence across Europe and Asia, will supply KTTA with high-quality branded attire, tables, bats, balls, rubbers, shoes, and surrounds. The partnership is expected to enhance Kenya’s table tennis infrastructure significantly, providing young athletes with the resources they need to excel.
STAG CEO and owner Vivek Kohli echoed the federation’s enthusiasm, reaffirming the company’s commitment to empowering athletes across all levels.
“At STAG, we are passionate about working with players of all ages and abilities. This partnership will allow us to connect with both elite and underprivileged athletes, fueling their enthusiasm and development in the sport,” Kohli stated.
He further highlighted STAG’s long-term dedication to youth development initiatives across Africa, promising continuous support through equipment and sportswear provision. The deal aligns with STAG’s broader mission to promote grassroots sports development worldwide.
Mudibo also pointed out that STAG will design and supply tailor-made branded merchandise exclusively for KTTA, helping to promote and professionalize table tennis in Kenya. The partnership is expected to provide young Kenyan players with access to internationally recognized equipment, fostering their growth from grassroots to professional levels.
