Laikipia Governor Opens New ECDE Centre and Addresses Education Needs

Governor Joshua Irungu inaugurated the Naiborom Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) centre in Olmoran Ward, Laikipia West Sub-county. The ceremony highlighted the importance of education in preparing youth for the future and underscored the collaborative efforts between local and international partners.

Governor Irungu emphasized the critical role of education in shaping the youth and fostering community development. “Leaders must champion education to empower our youth to confidently stride into the future,” he stated during the opening ceremony. The Naiborom ECDE centre stands as a testament to effective partnership between the Guernsey Overseas Aid and Development Commission and the Laikipia County Government. This collaboration not only facilitated the construction of the new classroom but also symbolizes a shared commitment to supporting educational initiatives in the region.

In addition to the classroom, the county government contributed a 10,000-litre water tank to address the acute water shortage in the area. This donation reflects a holistic approach to community development, ensuring that essential infrastructure supports educational facilities.
