Three suspects have been apprehended in connection with a series of violent robbery incidents that have recently shaken Narok town and its surrounding areas.
The arrests followed a dramatic incident in Total village, where a robbery was reported in progress. Law enforcement officers swiftly responded to the distress call, arriving just in time to interrupt a robbery orchestrated by a three-man gang. The gang had broken into a rental building and forcefully taken valuable items from several tenants, including mobile phones, laptops, and gas cylinders. Amid the chaos, a tenant, who is a third-year student at Maasai Mara University, was seriously injured while trying to defend himself during the assault.
Thanks to quick coordination and intelligence, the police managed to apprehend the three suspects as they attempted to flee the scene. The suspects have been identified as Gideon Kipkorir Rono, aged 22, Haron Kipkirui Bii, 25, and Nicholas Kipngetich Bii, 32. All three were arrested in connection with the violent robbery, and during the operation, police recovered several items that further implicated them.
Among the items recovered at the time of arrest were three traditional Maasai swords—commonly referred to as simis—which reinforced suspicions of the gang’s violent intent. In addition, police confiscated two Lenovo laptops, seven mobile phones, and a 6-kilogram gas cylinder, all believed to have been stolen during the raid on the rental building.

Further investigations led officers to the suspects’ place of residence, where an even larger haul of stolen property was found. The recovered goods included assorted electronics, gas cylinders, and several Kenya Power meters. Many of the items were identified by their rightful owners, strengthening the case against the suspects.
The injured tenant was rushed to the Maasai Mara University Clinic, where he received medical attention. His condition has since stabilized, and he is currently recovering under the care of medical professionals.
Residents of Narok have expressed a sense of relief following the arrest, as the area has recently experienced an uptick in violent crime, especially during nighttime hours. Local leaders and community members have commended the police for their swift response and have urged continued vigilance to deter similar crimes.
The suspects are currently in police custody and undergoing the necessary legal processing. Authorities have confirmed that the three will be formally charged in court once investigations are completed. The recovered items are being held as exhibits and will be used to support the prosecution’s case.
Security agencies have reiterated their commitment to ensuring the safety of residents in Narok and other affected regions. They are calling on members of the public to remain alert and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement. In particular, the police are encouraging landlords and property owners to screen tenants thoroughly and to work closely with local authorities to help identify potential threats.
As the case proceeds, it is expected to serve as a strong warning to others who may consider engaging in similar criminal activities. Authorities hope the incident will lead to stronger community-police collaboration, ultimately contributing to a safer and more secure environment for all.
