A tragic triple homicide unfolded in Tamarac, Florida, leaving a community in shock. Authorities reported that 43-year-old Nathan Gingles was responsible for the deaths of his estranged wife, her father, and a neighbor before taking his 4-year-old daughter to a local Walmart, where he was later found by police.
The horrifying chain of events began on the morning of February 16 when 64-year-old David Pozner was discovered on the back patio of his daughter’s home, fatally shot in the head. Investigators noted that he was still holding the handle of a broken coffee mug, suggesting he had been attacked while innocently drinking his morning coffee.
Shortly after, police responded to another crime scene nearby, where they found the bodies of 34-year-old Mary Catherine Gingles and 36-year-old Andrew Ferrin. Surveillance footage captured Mary Gingles running toward Ferrin’s house, seemingly seeking help after her father had been shot. However, Gingles allegedly pursued her, accompanied by their young daughter, before taking both her life and Ferrin’s.
The violent events were captured in part by security cameras from neighboring homes. Witnesses described hearing multiple gunshots, followed by the sound of a woman screaming. In one of her written statements, she described her deep fear of him, recounting a disturbing incident where he allegedly sang that he was going to kill her and that there was nothing she could do to stop him. She also detailed concerns about his access to multiple firearms and silencer-equipped weapons, stating she feared for both her life and their daughter’s.
Authorities later found a domestic violence injunction document in the kitchen of the crime scene, along with multiple gun lockboxes. Despite legal protections in place, the escalating violence resulted in the devastating loss of three lives.
