A Florida woman is facing serious charges after allegedly threatening to burn down a daycare center due to an ongoing custody dispute over her infant daughter. Law enforcement officials say the woman, 38, has been involved in a series of incidents leading up to her latest arrest.
The situation began months ago when she was arrested on multiple charges, including child abuse, child neglect, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest. Following this, she lost custody of her then-2-month-old daughter. Though she was released on bond, her legal troubles continued, culminating in another arrest earlier this month.
The most recent allegations stem from repeated confrontations at a daycare facility in Boynton Beach. The child’s foster parent reported that the woman first attempted to enter the daycare on New Year’s Eve but was denied access. Weeks later, on January 23, she allegedly returned in an attempt to take the child but was again stopped by staff. Days after that incident, a hole was discovered in the daycare’s fence, and a tracking device was found hidden inside a stuffed animal that she had given to her daughter.
The tension escalated further when she allegedly showed up again on January 30, this time carrying a butane torch and a fire extinguisher. Security intervened before she could get to the foster parent, but later, two backpacks filled with gasoline were discovered near the daycare. One of the bags contained her Cuban identification card.
Authorities also report that the foster parent received a threatening audio message through WhatsApp, in which the woman allegedly stated she would burn down the daycare unless her child was returned to her.
Currently, she remains in custody without bond on charges related to electronic threats of violence.
The woman’s earlier arrest last year involved an alleged act of vandalism in which she reportedly involved her infant daughter. Late at night, she allegedly went to another person’s home and used a blunt object possibly her high heels to strike the victim’s door. She is also accused of breaking a motorcycle mirror and damaging the hood of a car while holding her baby in her arms. Witnesses reported that the child was crying hysterically and appeared frightened as the events unfolded.
When deputies arrived, they found the woman still holding the baby recklessly, nearly dropping her multiple times. Fortunately, the child was not seriously injured. Authorities believe her actions put the infant at significant risk, contributing to the decision to remove the child from her custody.
With a history of erratic behavior and escalating threats, the woman now faces serious legal consequences. Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the case, and prosecutors will determine the next steps in the legal proceedings.
