A mother in Indiana is facing multiple charges after allegedly boarding a school bus and attacking a student she believed had been bullying her son. The incident, which was caught on cellphone video, reportedly took place on March 6, 2025. The woman, accompanied by her teenage daughter and son, confronted the 13-year-old boy, urging her son to fight him and expressing frustration with what she described as an ongoing bullying situation.
Witnesses reported that the woman stormed onto the bus and loudly declared her intentions, ignoring the driver’s warnings that parents were not allowed on board. She reportedly asked the other students if anyone wanted to “get active” before her son and the 8th grader engaged in a physical altercation. During the fight, the mother allegedly encouraged her son to continue, prompting bystanders to question why she was allowing the fight to happen.
The confrontation followed an incident the previous day, during which the mother’s son and the 8th grader had been involved in an altercation. The bus driver stated that the older boy had slapped the younger one after being subjected to racist comments. The school had been notified of that incident, and it was under review before the mother took matters into her own hands.
Both boys involved in the dispute claimed to be victims of bullying. The 8th grader acknowledged that he had teased the younger student but denied ever physically harming him until the slap. Meanwhile, the younger boy admitted to making offensive remarks in response to what he perceived as bullying. His mother, however, insisted that he had been unfairly targeted and wanted him to stand up for himself.
The 8th grader’s mother offered a different perspective, asserting that it was the younger boy who had been the aggressor, frequently making racist comments about her son’s Mexican heritage and immigration status. She denied that her son had bullied the younger boy in any way beyond teasing.
Authorities charged the woman with felony battery, criminal confinement, criminal trespass, and intimidation. She is currently awaiting her first court hearing as the case unfolds. The incident has sparked discussions about the appropriate way for parents to handle bullying situations and the consequences of taking extreme measures.
