A tragic incident unfolded in Isinya, Kajiado County, where the body of a five-year-old boy who had been missing was discovered stashed in a sack and abandoned on the rooftop of a residential house.
The child was reported missing on March 27, and after days of searching, his remains were found on April 1 following complaints from residents about a foul smell in the Korrompoi area. Upon investigation, locals discovered a white sack on the rooftop of one of the houses. Upon checking the contents, they found the decomposing body of the child.
The boy’s mother and grandmother identified him at the scene. Authorities have yet to determine the motive behind the killing, and no arrests have been made so far. The body was moved to the mortuary for autopsy and further investigations.
As police arrived to retrieve the remains, local residents staged a brief protest, demanding justice for the slain child. Law enforcement officials assured them that a thorough investigation would be conducted to find those responsible.
In a separate incident in Mwiki, Nairobi, a man was found dead after an attack by unknown assailants. The victim, 34-year-old James Muiruri, was reportedly carrying luggage when he was confronted outside his house in the early hours of April 2. His body was later discovered with visible injuries on his knee and back, and bloodstains were found at the scene.
Despite the violent attack, his luggage was not stolen, leaving authorities puzzled about the motive. His body was transported to the mortuary for autopsy and further investigations as police work to establish the circumstances surrounding the murder.
Meanwhile, in Turbo, Uasin Gishu County, a 56-year-old woman, Elizabeth Jeruto Raswei, was found dead in her bed with no visible injuries. According to relatives, she had retired to bed on April 1 but did not wake up the following morning. Authorities have launched an inquiry into the cause of death, and her body has been taken to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital for postmortem examination.
In another case, police in Juja, Kiambu County, are investigating an incident involving a female student at a local college who was stabbed and seriously wounded by a fellow student during an altercation. The attack occurred on March 31 after an argument between the two escalated. The suspect reportedly picked up a knife and stabbed the victim in the abdomen before fleeing the scene.
Authorities arrested the assailant a few hours later, and the victim was rushed to Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital, where she is receiving treatment in critical condition. The suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue.
