A Texas woman was arrested last week after allegedly attacking her husband with a kitchen knife on Valentine’s Day during a heated argument over an unwanted gift. The 57-year-old woman was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
According to authorities, officers responded to a 911 call around 10:20 p.m. on February 14 regarding a domestic disturbance in McClellan, Texas. The caller, later identified as the husband, informed emergency dispatchers that his wife was being violent and was armed with a knife.
When officers arrived at the residence, the husband let them inside and provided details about the incident. Earlier that morning, he had given his wife a necklace as a Valentine’s Day gift. However, she was reportedly displeased because she had wanted a bracelet instead. The disagreement escalated, but the husband left for work, hoping the tension would subside by the time he returned.
When he arrived home at approximately 4 p.m., his wife continued to express her frustration about the gift. To avoid further conflict, he left the house for a few more hours. Upon his return later that evening, the argument had intensified. This time, she allegedly confronted him while wielding a large kitchen knife.
During the altercation, the wife reportedly pointed the knife at her husband and shouted, “Come and get it.” Fearing for his safety, the husband recorded part of the encounter, capturing his wife holding the weapon. Authorities reviewed the footage, which confirmed her actions.
Following the investigation, officers arrested the woman at the scene. She was taken to the county jail, where she was processed for the felony charge. By Thursday, she was no longer listed as an inmate at the facility.
The case highlights the potential dangers of domestic disputes escalating into violence. While disagreements between couples are common, this incident serves as a reminder of how quickly tensions can spiral out of control. Law enforcement officials continue to urge individuals in volatile situations to seek help before conflicts turn dangerous.
