Kenya is grappling with a wave of violent deaths as police investigate multiple killings reported over the past few days. The cases, spread across different regions, have sparked concern over rising domestic violence and unexplained murders.
Man Killed in Domestic Fight in Samburu
A 34-year-old man in Wamba Town, Samburu County, succumbed to fatal stab wounds following a domestic altercation with his wife on Sunday, February 25. The deceased, identified as Amos Lemeleni, was reportedly stabbed in the chest during a heated argument.
Police officers who responded to the incident said Lemeleni was rushed to a local hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Authorities recovered the murder weapon, a kitchen knife, at the scene. The suspect, Lemeleni’s wife, was arrested and is currently in police custody as investigations continue. She is expected to be arraigned in court following further inquiries.
Body Found by Roadside in South B, Nairobi
In a separate incident, police are investigating the murder of Daud Bishai, whose body was discovered on Likoni Road in South B, Nairobi. Bishai’s lifeless body bore a visible cut on the upper limb, leading police to suspect he was killed at the scene.
As of now, no suspects have been arrested, and authorities are working to determine the motive behind the killing. A specialized team has been formed to pursue the case, with detectives seeking leads that could point to those responsible. The body was transferred to the mortuary, pending an autopsy.
57-Year-Old Woman Found Dead in Kuria East
In another disturbing case, the body of a 57-year-old woman, Robi Wambura Chegere, was discovered in River Robwe in Ntimaru, Kuria East. She had left home to wash clothes at the river but failed to return, prompting a search by her family.
The search ended tragically when her body was found floating in the river, bearing two deep cuts on the head. Authorities suspect foul play and believe a sharp object was used in the attack. However, no arrests have been made, and police are yet to establish the motive behind the murder. The body was moved to the mortuary as investigations continue.
