Police are investigating an incident in which a woman sustained fractures after jumping from the fourth floor of a building in Mihango, Kayole, Nairobi. The woman alleged that she was attempting to escape an attempted rape when she made the desperate leap.
According to reports, the woman was in the house with the suspect when a confrontation erupted. She claimed the suspect attempted to assault her sexually, prompting her to flee towards the balcony. In a bid to escape, she jumped from the fourth floor to the ground floor.
Security guards stationed at the apartment complex responded swiftly, picking up the injured woman and rushing her to a nearby hospital for treatment. Others on the scene detained the suspect and contacted the police, who later arrested him for questioning.
A police team that visited both the scene and the hospital confirmed that the victim had suffered fractures in her legs. Investigations into the incident are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the case.
Meanwhile, a suspected criminal was shot and injured during a confrontation with police following a failed robbery attempt in Majengo slums. Officers said they recovered a homemade gun from the suspect.
