Thursday morning, a man was shot dead by military personnel after he intruded into the Moi Airbase in Eastleigh, Nairobi. The suspect, whose identity remains unknown, reportedly entered the highly secured compound through the Nairobi River, which meanders through the airbase. The breach occurred around 2 am when the man was spotted walking into the main quarters.
According to military personnel on duty, the intruder was confronted and ordered to surrender. However, he defied the instructions, prompting the military personnel to take drastic action. The officers then called the police to assist in the investigation of the incident. The body of the deceased was subsequently removed from the scene and taken to the mortuary pending identification, autopsy, and further investigation.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the man’s motives for breaching the airbase. The incident has raised questions about security measures at the facility, as well as the level of threat posed by the intruder. As the investigation continues, police have emphasized the importance of understanding the circumstances surrounding the intrusion.
In a separate incident, police are probing the mysterious deaths of three men whose bodies were discovered in different locations across Nairobi. In Ziwani, the body of Samuel Odanga was found unresponsive in his bed, with no visible injuries but blood oozing from his mouth. His body was also moved to the mortuary for an autopsy.
Another body, identified as Felix Mbuvi, was found lying lifeless on the roadside along Ukwala Lane in the city center. Police confirmed his death after being alerted by concerned citizens. Finally, in Mathare slums, the body of a man was discovered floating in a river, and authorities are working to establish the cause of death.
As investigations continue into these deaths, police are seeking to determine the circumstances surrounding each case, with autopsies pending for all three victims.
