A wanted man sought by the authorities for caning his son remains at large after evading an attempted arrest in Nakuru. According to the police, the man fled his home in the early hours of Friday, June 21, before the arrest could be carried out. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) reported that the man became aware of his impending arrest after some Kenyans began sharing details of his location.
During his early morning escape, he also took his 8-year-old son with him. The police discovered the man’s flight when officers arrived at his home on Friday, only to find it deserted. As a result, the manhunt for the Nakuru-based man has been extended, with authorities continuing to seek information about his whereabouts.
The situation has raised serious concerns about the safety of the child. Authorities fear for the boy’s well-being given the mistreatment witnessed in the viral video that sparked the investigation. “The suspect’s whereabouts are unknown, and the safety of the little boy may be at stake,” a police spokesperson stated.
The DCI has issued an urgent appeal to the public for any information that could lead to the man’s capture and the child’s rescue. “We appeal to anyone who has information that could assist in rescuing the kid to share with us by reporting at any police station or calling our #FichuakwaDCI hotline 0800 722 203,” the DCI urged.
As the manhunt intensifies, the community remains on edge, hoping for a swift resolution to ensure the boy’s safety and bring the suspect to justice.
