Rupert Murdoch, the 93-year-old media titan, has tied the knot for the fifth time, as confirmed by his corporation, News Corp, on Sunday.
Murdoch married 67-year-old Elena Zhukova, a retired molecular biologist from Russia, in a picturesque ceremony at his vineyard estate in Bel Air, California, on Saturday. The couple announced their engagement in March and shared their joyous wedding photos through News Corp.
Murdoch’s previous marriage to model and actress Jerry Hall ended in 2022 after they wed in 2016. Elena Zhukova was formerly married to Alexander Zhukov, a billionaire energy investor and Russian politician. Their daughter, Dasha, was once married to Roman Abramovich, the former owner of Premier League club Chelsea.
Last fall, Murdoch stepped down from leading Fox News’ parent company and his News Corp media empire, passing the reins to his son Lachlan. Murdoch’s legacy spans continents, significantly shaping modern American politics.
In 1952, Murdoch inherited a newspaper in Australia from his father. Over the decades, he built a formidable news and entertainment empire, acquiring prestigious publications like The Times of London and The Wall Street Journal. Since its launch in 1996, Fox News Channel has become a major force in television, resonating with conservative audiences and politicians in the U.S.
