The upcoming weekend promises a varied weather outlook across the UK, starting with unsettled conditions on Saturday. Expect a blend of cloudy skies and intermittent rain or showers, predominantly affecting eastern regions. Meanwhile, western areas may experience brighter spells interspersed with occasional showers.
Sunday offers a more promising change with a reduction in shower frequency across the country. Sunny intervals are anticipated for much of the UK, particularly in the south where temperatures are set to reach around 22°C, nearing seasonal norms.
Met Office Chief Meteorologist Steven Ramsdale commented, “The weekend begins with unsettled weather continuing from recent days. Eastern areas can expect more frequent rain, while western regions may see scattered showers amid varying cloud cover.”
Looking ahead to next week, Ramsdale warned of a brief respite on Sunday giving way to renewed unsettled conditions, especially in southern parts influenced by low pressure. Showers, potentially heavy and thundery, are forecast for Monday and Tuesday, although Scotland may experience relatively drier spells initially.
As the week progresses, weather patterns are expected to remain changeable, particularly in western regions, although exact conditions beyond mid-week remain uncertain.
