MP Oscar Sudi Gifts Sh1.3 Million to Nuru Okanga: A Boost for Business and a Promise of More

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has gifted social media influencer Nuru Okanga Sh1.3 million to kickstart his business ventures. The donation, made public on Monday night during an appearance on Obinna TV’s show, marks a significant gesture of assistance following Sudi’s earlier promise to improve Okanga’s challenging living conditions.

The backstory to this act of kindness highlights the struggles faced by Okanga, who has been candid about his difficult circumstances, including the need to shower outside due to inadequate facilities. In response to his plight, Sudi pledged to make a difference in Okanga’s life by providing financial aid and additional support.

During the show, Sudi asked Okanga how he could assist, emphasizing that the solution to his problems was within reach. “Wewe kama Okanga unataka nikusaidie aje (How do you want me to help you Okanga)?” Sudi inquired. This question opened the floor for Okanga to detail his struggles and needs.

Okanga, who revealed he is the primary breadwinner for his family, expressed his aspiration to start a salon for his wife but was hindered by a lack of capital. “If I get Sh300,000, kwa sababu hiyo ni yake, Niko sawa. Nimkeep busy,” Okanga explained, indicating that such support would significantly improve his situation.

He further stated, “Mimi kama Nuru Okanga shida zangu zote ni mingi, lakini nataka niende straightforward, kama unaeza nipatia Sh1m maisha yangu itakuwa sana (I have many problems as Nuru Okanga but to be precise, if you give me Sh1 million my life will be okay).” This appeal prompted Sudi to take decisive action, leading to the substantial financial gift.

With the Sh1.3 million, Okanga plans to diversify his investments. He intends to use the funds to set up a posho mill, a car yard, a kiosk, and a furniture shop at his rural home. Additionally, Sh300,000 is earmarked for establishing a salon for his wife. This comprehensive approach is aimed at enhancing his family’s financial stability and creating employment opportunities.

However, not everyone is entirely convinced by the ambitious plan. Both Sudi and the show’s host, Obinna, questioned Okanga’s ability to manage multiple businesses simultaneously. “Nuru has never run any business and wants to open five businesses,” Obinna pointed out, highlighting concerns about the feasibility of such an expansive business model.

Acknowledging these concerns, Sudi advised Okanga to start with a more manageable approach. “I will give you the money but don’t start small. You can have the posho mill and the car wash first and ensure there is good management and stability before venturing into those others,” Sudi recommended. This advice underscores the importance of careful planning and effective management in ensuring the success of new ventures.

In addition to the financial gift, Sudi has also committed to purchasing a three-bedroom house in Nairobi for Okanga under the affordable housing program. This promise further demonstrates Sudi’s dedication to transforming Okanga’s living conditions and providing him with a stable home environment.

Sudi’s intervention comes at a time when many are calling for more tangible support for individuals facing financial hardship. By directly addressing Okanga’s needs and offering both financial and infrastructural support, Sudi’s actions set a precedent for how public figures can make a meaningful impact on the lives of ordinary citizens.

As Okanga prepares to embark on his new business journey, the community and onlookers will be watching closely to see how these initiatives unfold. With the backing of MP Oscar Sudi and the guidance provided, there is hope that Okanga’s ventures will succeed and lead to a brighter future for him and his family.
