MTN Uganda, through its corporate social responsibility arm, MTN Foundation, has proudly announced the commencement of the second phase of its MTN ACE program. This youth skilling initiative is designed to empower young Ugandans with the practical knowledge and skills needed to develop innovative ICT solutions addressing community challenges within the ever-evolving digital landscape.
In collaboration with Ubunifu Systems, a renowned firm specializing in software development and ICT innovation, the MTN ACE program seeks to harness the potential of young minds. The focus is to cultivate a new generation of digital creators equipped to tackle pressing issues in education, youth empowerment, health, and agriculture.
Empowering the Youth
The MTN ACE program aims to bridge the skills gap by offering comprehensive training that blends theoretical knowledge with practical application. Young participants will be introduced to cutting-edge technologies and methodologies, fostering an environment where creativity and problem-solving are paramount. The initiative is set to empower the youth by providing them with the tools and expertise to co-create digital products and solutions that address the unique challenges faced by their communities.
Target Areas
- Education: By integrating digital solutions, the program aims to enhance the quality of education. Participants will develop tools and platforms that facilitate better learning experiences and broaden access to educational resources.
- Youth Empowerment: The initiative will focus on equipping the youth with entrepreneurial skills, enabling them to become job creators rather than job seekers. This empowerment is crucial for fostering a self-sustaining economy driven by innovative young entrepreneurs.
- Health: Digital health solutions are a critical component of the program. Participants will work on projects that improve healthcare delivery, making it more accessible and efficient for communities.
- Agriculture: Recognizing the importance of agriculture in Uganda’s economy, the program will also focus on developing ICT solutions that address agricultural challenges, thereby boosting productivity and sustainability in the sector.
