Nairobi Mum Earns Scholarship to UK University

Esther Wavinya’s journey is a testament to resilience and determination. After dropping out of school due to an unplanned pregnancy, many thought her academic dreams were over. However, she refused to be defeated. In her 20s, while working to support her daughter, she turned to motivational books and biographies, rekindling her passion for education.

In 2013, reconnecting with former classmates reignited her desire to pursue higher education. Her hard work paid off when she earned a fully funded scholarship from the Cambridge Trust and the Oxford and Cambridge Society of Kenya. Now a postgraduate student at the University of Cambridge, Wavinya’s story inspires others to chase their dreams, proving it’s never too late to achieve greatness.
