Nakuru County Enhances Agricultural Support

Nakuru County has recently introduced 16 satellite stores to help local farmers access government-subsidized fertilizer more conveniently. In a move aimed at enhancing agricultural efficiency, the county has partnered with Hello Tractor to provide mechanized equipment for land preparation and harvesting.

Deputy Governor David Kones highlighted the county’s commitment to integrating agriculture with manufacturing through value addition and reducing post-harvest losses. He reaffirmed the administration’s pledge to empower farmers by ensuring timely and accessible supply of subsidized fertilizer through the last-mile distribution program.

During his visit to the Nakuru National Agricultural Show, Kones emphasized the county’s dedication to advancing agricultural practices under the theme “Promoting Climate-Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth.” Through its County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) 2023–2027, Nakuru focuses on adopting climate-smart agriculture, leveraging technology to boost productivity, and promoting research, training, and modern farming techniques.
