Kenyan music legend David Mathenge, popularly known as Nameless, has decided to stop recording challenge videos of his latest hit song Nonstop with female video vixens. The move comes after his wife, Wahu, expressed concerns over his interactions with curvy dancers in the viral social media trend.
Nameless announced the decision via Instagram on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, stating that after careful reflection and advice from others, he had chosen to discontinue the trend. The post was accompanied by a video where Wahu, who was filming, appeared sternindicating that she may have influenced his choice.
“So, after some umm… consideration, I have been instructed no, I have decided myself that maybe I should reduce and stop sharing content of me dancing with girls for this Nonstop challenge,” Nameless said in a lighthearted manner.
The Boomba Train hitmaker had initially embraced the challenge, which had gone viral on TikTok, attracting thousands of fans, influencers, and dancers. One of the most popular clips featured Nameless dancing with TikTok influencer Pricky, who is known for her curvy figure and energetic moves. In the video, Pricky twerked near Nameless as he held her waist, leading to a synchronized dance that generated significant attention online.
However, the viral moment also caught Wahu’s eye, prompting her to recreate the challenge in a comedic skit. The playful video humorously expressed her disapproval of Nameless’s suggestive dance moves with another woman, subtly urging him to reconsider his participation in the trend.
Following Wahu’s reaction, Nameless acknowledged that his wife’s feelings were valid. He stated that while he enjoyed engaging with fans through the challenge, he ultimately decided to prioritize his family’s comfort. “I appreciate all the love and energy from my fans, but I also have to ensure my home remains peaceful,” he added.
Despite ending the challenge with female vixens, Nameless playfully suggested that Wahu could now join him in the Nonstop dance. The couple, who have been together for over 15 years, have frequently showcased their chemistry both in music and social media interactions, making their relationship one of the most admired in Kenya’s entertainment scene.
Nameless’s decision has sparked mixed reactions among fans. While some praised him for respecting his wife’s concerns, others viewed it as unnecessary, arguing that dancing was simply part of showbiz. Nevertheless, the conversation highlights the delicate balance between entertainment, family dynamics, and public perception in the music industry.
