Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced scheduled power interruptions in 11 counties on Thursday to facilitate system maintenance. The affected counties include Nairobi, Machakos, Kiambu, Murang’a, Mombasa, Marsabit, Tharaka Nithi, Nyeri, Meru, Kakamega, and Vihiga. The outages will occur between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM in different regions.
Affected Areas
Nairobi
Parts of Nairobi set to experience power cuts from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM include Murang’a Road, Gurunanak Hospital, Pangani Police, Juja Road, Radiant Hospital, North View Road, and surrounding areas. Other affected regions include Mbagathi Road, Lang’ata Road, Akila Estates, Civil Servant Estates, and Strathmore College.
Machakos
Machakos residents in Makutano Mwala, Mwala, Kivandini, Mhiuni, Wamunyu, Ikalaasa, and Syokisinga will face interruptions from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Kakamega and Vihiga
In Kakamega, Igukhu Hospital, Makhokho, and Khaega will be affected from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Vihiga areas impacted include Shell Petrol Luanda, Maseno Police, Sunrise, and Bishop Olang from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Nyeri and Meru
Nyeri residents in Muruguru Kwa Kigera, Vet Pro Factory, Githiru Market, and Satima Millers will experience outages from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Meru areas, including Mucuune, St. Stephen Primary School, and Safaricom Kiirua, will be affected from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Tharaka Nithi and Marsabit
Tharaka Nithi areas like Karamani, Cheera Market, and Salama Boarding will face power cuts from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. In Marsabit, Moyale Town, Moyale Boys, and Odda Dispensary will experience outages from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Murang’a and Kiambu
Murang’a residents in Githingiri East, Thika Greens, and Kandara Town will be without power from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Kiambu areas affected include Kahuho High School, Kirangari Boys, and Chura from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Mombasa
Mombasa will experience power interruptions in Fast African Storage, Gulf Stream, and Vivo Energy from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
KPLC advises affected customers to plan accordingly and apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the maintenance work.
