The available job openings include 80 vacancies for construction carpenters, 80 for steel fixers, 50 for plasterers, 40 for heavy machinery operators, 30 for plumbers, and 20 for electricians. Additionally, there are 50 positions for tile masons, 10 for civil engineers or civil foremen, and several foreman roles across carpentry, steel fixing, plastering, and masonry. These vacancies cater to both skilled laborers and those with managerial experience in construction projects.
The opportunity presents a unique chance for qualified NYS graduates to gain international experience while earning competitive pay. However, the cost of travel, visa, pre-departure training, and medical examination will be borne by the applicants. The NYS has indicated that the recruitment process will be ongoing, with the first batch of successful candidates expected to begin their journey on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
Samson Kiptum, Senior Superintendent at NYS, confirmed that candidates who meet the qualifications will be contacted for practical tests (interviews) at the National Youth Service Engineering Institute. These tests will be conducted in groups starting January 28, 2025.
Successful applicants will work in Israel for a period of 63 months, or approximately five years and three months, with a full work month consisting of 236 hours spread over six days. The work schedule will run from Sunday to Thursday, with Friday being a half-day and Saturday reserved for rest. Workers can expect a basic hourly wage of 32.30 New Israeli Shekels, or about Sh1,116, along with the possibility of overtime pay. The employer will also provide housing, transportation, work equipment, and necessary safety training, including height work and safety protocols.
Sick leave will be in accordance with Israeli labor laws, ensuring workers are covered in case of illness. This initiative reflects the NYS’s ongoing commitment to providing international employment opportunities for its graduates, further expanding their skill sets and work experience in a global context.
Candidates interested in these vacancies are encouraged to carefully review the qualifications and job descriptions outlined by the NYS. Applications can be submitted through a provided form, accessible via the link included in the official announcement.
