Recent investigations are underway in several counties across Kenya following the discovery of four bodies, with police suspecting foul play in some cases.
In Kamulu, Nairobi, a 45-year-old man was found lying on the roadside with severe injuries. Police were alerted to the scene and discovered the victim’s body with multiple injuries, blood oozing from his mouth and nose. The lack of identification documents on the deceased has left police with few leads, though initial findings suggest he was attacked and killed at the location. Authorities have moved the body to the mortuary for autopsy and identification as investigations continue into the cause and motive behind the murder.
In Narok County, police are also investigating a brutal death that occurred in the Oljoro Milimani area of Mulot. Leonard Kirui, 30, was killed in a violent altercation over a land dispute. The assailant, who is known to the victim, managed to escape the scene after hacking Kirui with a sharp object. The victim sustained several deep cuts to his head and succumbed to his injuries. Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect, while the body has been taken to a local mortuary for further investigation.
Meanwhile, in Wanguru, Kirinyaga County, another suspicious death was reported when the body of one David Njogu was found at Mururi Trading Center. Police arrived at the scene to find Njogu’s body with blood oozing from his mouth and nose, though no visible injuries were detected. The cause of death remains unclear, and the authorities are treating the incident as suspicious. The body has been moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
In Homabay County, a tragic case of suicide has been reported. A 32-year-old man, Erick Omondi, was found hanging from a tree in Magare village. Preliminary investigations suggest that Omondi’s death was a result of a dispute with his wife, who had left him with their children. The emotional distress from the quarrel reportedly led him to take his own life. The body was retrieved and taken to the Homabay County Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue for autopsy.
These deaths have prompted investigations by local authorities, with police urging the public to cooperate in providing any information that could help solve the cases.
