Kenya has been rocked by a series of harrowing murders in recent days, leaving communities across the country in shock and authorities grappling for answers. From Narok to Homabay, Kiambu, and Kwale, the chilling incidents have painted a grim picture of insecurity.
In Narok County, a salonist’s body was discovered by the roadside in Olchoro on Saturday morning. The woman, whose name was not immediately disclosed, had severe deep cuts on her head, right thigh, and left hand. Police suspect the wounds were inflicted using a sharp object. Witnesses reported that the victim was last seen at a local bar on Friday night. Police revealed that an altercation involving two groups of men had taken place in the area earlier that evening, with one man suffering serious injuries to his left hand. Authorities have identified suspects and launched a manhunt for their arrest. The body was moved to a mortuary for autopsy as investigations continue.
Meanwhile, in Mbita, Homabay County, police uncovered the decomposing body of a woman, identified as Christina Anyango Abanga, in her home. Preliminary investigations suggest she had been dead for several days before her remains were found on January 24. Two men have been arrested in connection with her suspected murder, and the body has been moved to a mortuary for a postmortem examination.
In Kiambu’s Kiganjo area, another disturbing discovery was made when the body of a man, James Ndungu Kinyanjui, was found at his gate. Authorities believe he may have been scalded with hot liquid, as burns were visible on his head, neck, and upper body. No arrests have been made so far, but police are pursuing leads to establish the motive and perpetrators behind the attack.
A similar tragedy unfolded in Kinango, Kwale County, where the body of a man was found on the roadside on January 24. Police reported that wild animals had partially devoured the body, with significant damage to the legs, chest, and arms. Deep cuts on the head suggested a brutal assault before the victim’s death.
The rising cases of violent deaths highlight an alarming trend of insecurity across the nation. Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities as investigations into these cases proceed. The government has assured the public of intensified security measures to curb such incidents and deliver justice to the victims.
