Interior Principal Secretary (PS) Raymond Omollo has emphasized the need for a seamless transition for students who sat for the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams. Speaking during a burial ceremony at Njeri Village, Karachuonyo Constituency, PS Omollo reassured parents and guardians of the government’s commitment to ensuring all candidates have access to further educational opportunities, regardless of their grades.
Omollo’s remarks came a day after the Ministry of Education officially released the 2024 KCSE results, marking a crucial phase in the academic journey of thousands of Kenyan youths. Acknowledging the mixed reactions to the results, the PS encouraged parents to guide their children in exploring pathways that align with their strengths and aspirations. He highlighted the diverse opportunities available in vocational training institutes, tertiary colleges, and universities.
“The government has put in place robust plans to ensure that no child is left behind. Whether your child scored an A or a D, there is a place for them in our society,” Omollo said. He urged parents to embrace these opportunities, emphasizing the importance of skills training for the nation’s development.
In line with the government’s commitment to a 100% transition rate, Omollo called for a collective effort from all stakeholders, including parents, to support the transition process. This approach, he noted, would empower the youth to acquire skills needed for the job market and contribute to Kenya’s economic growth.
Omollo also used the platform to urge residents to enroll in the Social Health Authority (SHA) program, a government initiative aimed at reducing the financial burden of healthcare. He highlighted the program’s potential to transform lives by enabling individuals to access medical services without out-of-pocket expenses, particularly for low-income families.
“The SHA program is a critical tool for improving the well-being of our communities. I encourage everyone to register and take advantage of this opportunity,” he added.
Omollo’s address underscored the government’s dual focus on education and health as pillars for building a prosperous and equitable society.
