American rapper Travis Scott, whose legal name is Jacques Bermon Webster, was arrested early Thursday morning at the Miami Beach Marina following a disturbance on a charter boat. According to authorities and jail records, Scott was taken into custody at 1:44 a.m. and booked into Miami-Dade County Jail at 4:35 a.m.
The 33-year-old artist had a $650 bond submitted and was released from Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center at 8 a.m. Thursday. CNN has reached out to Scott’s representatives for comment.
Scott, known for his high-energy performances and significant influence in the rap industry over the past decade, has had previous incidents where his concerts have turned chaotic, most notably the fatal Astroworld Festival in 2021, which resulted in 10 deaths.
The latest incident began when Scott got into a dispute with the crew of the charter boat. Police were called to the marina, and Scott was asked to leave. He initially complied but returned later and engaged in another dispute with the crew. After refusing to leave a second time, Scott was arrested, police said.
