Police Officer Shot with Crossbow in Suspected Terror Attack at Israeli Embassy in Serbia

In a suspected terror attack, a police officer stationed at the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade, Serbia, was shot in the neck with a crossbow on Saturday. The officer responded by shooting the attacker, who later died from the gunshot wounds. The injured officer was quickly transported to the hospital, where he is scheduled for an operation to remove the arrow lodged in his neck, as reported by CNN affiliate N1.

Serbia’s Interior Minister Ivica Dacic labeled the incident a “terrorist attack” and confirmed that several individuals connected to the event had been arrested. He indicated that the suspects were members of the Wahhabi movement, a strict branch of Islam, and were already known to police and security services. The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs also described the event as an “attempted terrorist attack” but assured that none of its employees were harmed.
