LSK Condemns Arbitrary Arrests of Kenyans Protesting Finance Bill 2024; Threatens Legal Action Against Nairobi Regional Commander Adamson Bungei for Aggression Against Protestors

The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has strongly condemned the arbitrary arrests of Kenyans protesting against the Finance Bill 2024. The LSK criticized the actions of the police, particularly pointing out Nairobi Regional Commander Adamson Bungei for his alleged aggression towards the protestors. The organization emphasized that such actions are a violation of the constitutional rights of the citizens to peacefully assemble and express their views. Furthermore, the LSK has threatened to take legal action against Commander Bungei, asserting that the unlawful detainment of demonstrators will not be tolerated and that they are committed to upholding the rule of law and protecting the civil liberties of Kenyans.
