Enhancing School Environments: West Pokot Schools Embrace Tree Planting for Beauty and Learning

Education Quality Assurance and Standards Officer for West Pokot Sub-county, Philemon Rop, has called upon schools to prioritize the planting of trees. This initiative aims to beautify school environments while simultaneously providing valuable learning opportunities.

During his recent visit to Tampalal Primary School, Rop emphasized the significance of integrating trees into school compounds. He stressed the transformative impact of greenery in enhancing school aesthetics and promoting sustainable practices.

“The planting of trees not only beautifies our school environments but also serves as a crucial step towards environmental conservation,” Rop noted. “It is a practical way to mitigate soil erosion and create a conducive learning atmosphere.”

Rop highlighted the educational benefits of tree planting, noting that it provides students with firsthand experience in environmental stewardship and biodiversity conservation. Trees can serve as living laboratories, facilitating learning in subjects like Biology and Environmental Studies.
