Rift Valley National Polytechnic Unrest Following Student’s Tragic Death

The atmosphere at Rift Valley National Polytechnic turned volatile yesterday following the tragic death of a female student under mysterious circumstances. The students took to the streets in protest, demanding justice for their fallen colleague, whose life was cut short by unknown assailants.

Arrests Made

In response to the unrest, Rongai Sub-county Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) Wilberforce Sicharani addressed the students, urging them to remain calm as investigations proceed. Sicharani revealed that a prime suspect, along with other individuals believed to be involved, had been apprehended. “We are committed to uncovering the truth and ensuring justice is served,” he assured the student body.

Plea for Cooperation

Sicharani emphasized the importance of cooperation between the students and the police during the investigation. “No stone will be left unturned in bringing the culprits to book. We need your cooperation and any information you may have that could aid our investigation,” he urged.

According to preliminary reports, the deceased student was allegedly taken from Kabasis Trading Centre by her boyfriend to Kaptembwa, where she met her untimely death. The circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear, fueling the students’ anger and demands for swift justice.
