Lang’ata MP Felix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalang’o, has openly rejected the proposed salary increase by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC). In a statement, Jalang’o expressed his disapproval of the proposed Ksh 14,000 increment, citing the current economic crisis and the struggles faced by ordinary Kenyans.
“We are in a crisis and SRC is proposing an increment of Ksh 14,000! … Mimi sitaki,” Jalang’o declared, emphasizing his stance against the pay raise. He argued that, given the financial hardships many Kenyans are enduring, now is not the time for lawmakers to accept salary increases.
