In a landmark achievement, Uasin Gishu County, under the leadership of Governor Jonathan Bii, has exceeded its revenue collection targets for the 2023/24 financial year, collecting a remarkable KSh 1.4 billion. This milestone marks the first time the county has crossed the KSh 1 billion threshold since the advent of devolution, surpassing its initial target of KSh 1.2 billion by over KSh 200 million.

Governor Bii expressed his elation and gratitude towards the residents of Uasin Gishu for their diligent tax payments, which played a pivotal role in achieving this unprecedented revenue milestone. “For the first time ever, we have achieved KSh 1.4 billion in Own Source Revenue. We owe this remarkable milestone to our hardworking residents who have dutifully paid their taxes,” the governor stated.

The governor underscored the significance of this achievement, noting that it is a testament to the strong sense of civic responsibility among the people of Uasin Gishu.
