LVCT Health Signs MoU With Kiambu County

LVCT Health has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Kiambu County aimed at enhancing HIV healthcare and community well-being. This partnership intends to utilize LVCT Health’s expertise and resources to bolster existing healthcare initiatives, particularly focusing on HIV care and prevention services. The agreement aligns with LVCT Health’s mission to strengthen health systems and policies across Africa, emphasizing capacity building within the County to sustain HIV care and achieve epidemic control targets, known as the 95:95:95 goals.

Dr. Lilian Otiso, Executive Director of LVCT Health, highlighted the challenges in reaching the remaining 5% of the population not yet accessing HIV services, stressing the need for innovative approaches informed by community feedback. The MoU will facilitate improved healthcare services across 12 sub-counties in Kiambu County, including the establishment of Community Health Programs and training initiatives for healthcare workers. Supported by the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), LVCT Health’s collaboration with Kiambu County aims to create sustainable health solutions and foster a healthier community for current and future generations.
