Mama Jimmy, alongside her husband Isaiah, also known as Baba Jimmy—the Mzungu preacher from Kakamega—has built a life far from their roots in Kenya. Yet, despite the tranquility of their new surroundings, Judith’s journey has been anything but smooth.
Judith recently opened up about the challenges she’s faced in her marriage, a candid revelation that has tugged at the hearts of her followers. Married in October, Judith discovered she was pregnant by December—just one month into her marriage. “People usually expect to have time to enjoy their marriage, but for me and Baba Jimmy, I got pregnant just one month into our marriage. After five months of enduring a difficult pregnancy, she suffered a miscarriage—a loss that devastated her. “Mara ya kwanza, mimba yangu ya kwanza nikapata miscarriage. Imagine niliumia and after five months nikapata nothing. Nilipata mimba December nikamiscarry April,” she recounted, her voice filled with the sorrow of those months.
The emotional weight of losing her first child was immense. Judith described how she could barely eat, often lying on the floor, consumed by grief and exhaustion. “I had suffered terribly, even eating was a problem. I could barely eat, I just used to sleep on the floor. They’d go to church, come back, and find me just laying down on a sisal sack,” she narrated, offering a glimpse into the depths of her despair.
As if the physical and emotional pain weren’t enough, Judith also faced the judgment of her community. Rumors began to swirl about her ability to carry a child, with some even suggesting that her blood was incompatible with her husband’s—a cruel speculation that only added to her suffering. “I couldn’t resign myself to the fact that I suffered all those months for nothing,” she lamented, reflecting on the ridicule she endured.
Despite the hardships, Judith found solace in her faith. She turned to prayer, asking God for strength and a healthy pregnancy. “I kept talking to God, asking Him to bless me with a child and to prove the doubters wrong,” she shared.
