Law Society of Kenya Declines Participation in Proposed Task Force Appointments

The Council of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has issued a clear directive regarding their involvement in a newly proposed task force, signaling a stance of non-participation. Florence Muturi, CEO of LSK, conveyed the council’s decision, stating unequivocally, “Neither our president nor any of our members shall take up appointments or participate in the said task force.” This resolute position underscores LSK’s commitment to maintaining independence and upholding professional integrity.

The decision reflects LSK’s strategic focus on preserving autonomy in its operations and advocacy efforts. By declining participation in the task force, LSK aims to prioritize other pressing agendas aligned with its mandate and the interests of its members.
